Bimalleolar Ankle Fractures with Surgical Fixation
This stock medical exhibit illustrates bimalleolar ankle fractures with surgical fixation. The first image is an anterior view showing the post-accident condition with a spiral fracture of the fibula and a medial fracture of the tibia. The hardware from a previous surgery can also been seen. A right lateral view depicts the placement of a plate and screws for fibular fixation through a lateral incision. A medial view demonstrates the fixation of the tibial fracture with a cancellous screw and K-wire through a medial incision. Finally, the post-operative condition is presented in an anterior view that shows the fixation hardware in place.
